Audio Engineer
Job Overview
Minimum 3-5 years in a production audio environment as an audio engineer/sound mixer/A2, preferably specializing in live, broadcast, or location sound
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues with analog and digital audio systems, wireless mics.
Familiarity with Yamaha Digital Consoles, Rio & Tio, Dante Controller, SMART, Shure Wireless Workbench, Wireless Designer, etc.
Basic networking/IT knowledge
Ability to be a leader and teach less-experienced shop techs
Ability to work overtime, nights, weekends
Ability to travel a plus but not required
Job Description:
Nolan audio engineers are responsible for a wide variety of duties pertaining to the operation and engineering of audio and intercom related orders. Duties include, but are not limited to:
Prepping and programming outbound audio systems/orders for rental with close attention paid to special client requests and specific needs. This includes digital audio consoles, wireless and wired microphones, speakers, field recorders, walkies, outboard gear, wired and wireless intercom equipment, rack building, etc. among others.
Assist with Quality Control and de-prep of returned equipment. Work with L&D department to ensure broken equipment is billed accordingly and sent out to repair.
Solder work, cable building, and in-house repairs based on skill level
Assist the rentals team with designing systems for clients - may include on-site scouts, conference calls, zoom meetings, etc.
Work closely with the Operations team to ensure outbound gear is packed correctly and sorted properly upon return.
Occasional on-site work with clients, including load-ins and load-outs of shows when necessary.
Good face-to-face client relations is a must.
Requirements:
- Ability to lift, bend, reach above the head, kneel, crouch, and/or stretch during shifts.
- Ability to lift, push, pull and move boxes up to 70+ pounds each.
- Capable of moving up and down stairs.
- Availability to work overtime during peak times which includes nights and weekends.
